English
Week of October 27- October 31
 Reading/Literature: Students will continue reading stories from the literature book, completing questions over the stories, and taking notes.
 Questions will accompany each story and will be assigned on schoology after the reading. Notes will also be given with short story. If you’re absent, check schoology for the assignment on each of the stories listed below, and get notes from a friend!
 Stories that we will be reading this week include the following:

Novel Reading: Students should be reading at least three times each week for 15-20 minutes outside of English class. Reading Logs will be collected each Friday. Students need to be working towards completing the reading of least 12 novels this year!
 Writing: Students will complete a quick write on our block scheduled day, and will turn in their writer's notebook for a grade this marking period.
 “America and Me” essays need to be submitted by November 4 with the permission slip. (optional writing assignment)
 Grammar: Students using everything we've learned so far this marking period on making observations on sentences.
 Vocabulary: Students will continue taking notes and reviewing vocabulary from our literary unit.
 Upcoming Due Dates:
*Each day of English this week there will be questions assigned with each short story.
October 28/29= Writer's Notebooks due

October 31= Reading Log Due
