English 8

Reading: On Tuesday for 1st hour and Wednesday for 2nd and 5th hours, an informational reading article will be assigned on schoology with reading comprehension questions. This assignment will be due by Thursday. In working towards our goal of reading 12 books, students should be reading outside of English class three times each week in their novel. I will again be collecting reading logs on Friday.

Writing: Narrative essay rough draft are due for 1st hour on Tuesday and for 2nd and 5th hours by Wednesday. After completing the editing and revision process this week, narrative final draft essays are due this Friday! Also, on Friday, students will be given a quiz over the narrative writing unit vocabulary. A link has been shared with students on Quizlet for them to study.

Grammar (Everyday Editing): This week students will be studying independent clauses, dependent clauses, coordinating conjunctions, and subordinating conjunctions.
