English 8

Everyday Editing: We answered grammar questions like students will see on the Explore and ACT tests. I'm still working on grading quizzes!

SSR

Lesson: We learned about a reading strategy called the SQ3R, applied it to a short story called, "The Adventures of the Speckled Band,"and started reading "The Adventures of the Speckled Band" on page 462 in the literature book.

After school work opportunity: The students that don't have a computer at home, may choose to sign up and come to an after school work session in the computer lab on Thursday night to complete the comparison informational essay due on Friday. This will be from 3:00-4:00.

Wednesday Pilot Explore Test: Students will be piloting an Explore Test online in the computer lab. McBain has been asked to try this test; the English test will take about 50 minutes to complete.

Homework Outlook: Comparison Essay due on Friday.
