He listened but never responded.
After school yesterday, I read my
e-mails, and I also invited my sister over for dinner.
Edmund was mad and refused to listen.
If you work hard, you’ll get good grades.
SSR (Keep reading at home! Good job students on all of the reading you have been doing in class and outside of class; so many students are finishing books and starting new ones daily! I love the enthusiasm and excitement for reading!)
Quick Write: We spent this time finishing discussion questions from yesterday's story, "The Finish of Patsy Barnes." Students worked in pairs to answer the questions. Our focus was on searching in the story for the symbolism, flashback, mood, theme, setting, and point of view.
Homework: Read the short story, "The Day I Got Lost" on page 534. Be prepared to answer questions about it tomorrow during Quick Write time. Tomorrow's questions about this story will focus on the craft the author used in writing this short story, as well as looking at something a character said that taught or showed something about another character, and something a character said that produced a decision in the story.
