Everyday Editing: Create a sentence in your writer's notebook, using the serial comma rule.

SSR: Please keep reading in your novels!! Read each night 10-15 minutes!

Quick Write: We read the poem, "Days" by Billy Collins and discussed the poem's meaning. Next, we wrote on the topic: "If you could go back to any day in your past, what day would you choose and why?"

Lesson: We read "The Bugs Who Flew Too Much" and highlighted the text for examples of voice and effective dialogue. On Monday, we will discuss more about sensory details and why the author structured the essay the way she did.

We are in our first unit of the year, narrative writing. As students prepare for writing in this genre, we will be studying many narrative pieces, and studying the moves of writers.

Have a blessed weekend! See you on Monday!

Homework Outlook: Have writer's notebook decorated for Tuesday!
