English 8


Hopefully, this week in English we will be able to finish the punctuation and mechanics packet handed out to students last week. This is what the schedule looks like for this week:

                   Wednesday

  1. Go over the week’s agenda.
  2. Hand back informational essays and put in binder.
  3. Hand back semi-colon/colon work from last Wed. with books and go over work.
  4. Grade Thursday’s semi-colon/colon work.
  5. Grade first comma work pages in packet.
  6. Complete unfinished parts of comma pages in packet.
  7. Check all comma work.


Thursday- 1.Lesson: Hyphens vs. Dashes 
                  2. Complete work in packet and in grammar book with hyphens and dashes.
            
               *Afternoon NET end-of-the marking period bowling trip for 8th grade.

Friday- 1. Lesson: Documentation of titles, apostrophes, and ellipsis mechanics rules.
              2. Complete work in packet and from hand-out.

             Next Week ……..
Monday-1. Hand in punctuation packet. 2.Quiz over packet and the unit!
Tuesday- Introduction to Anne Frank unit.
