Lesson:
1. I handed out literature books to each student.
2. We finished taking notes on literary terms.
3. We watched a two minute video on the Civil War to give students more background information on the story, "The Drummer Boy of Shiloh."
4. I read the first page of "The Drummer Boy of Shiloh" (pg. 6) to students and then discussed the setting and the main character's feelings.
5. Next, I assigned the rest of the story for students to read.
6. Homework: Finish reading "The Drummer Boy of Shiloh," and complete the 16 questions handed out about the story on the provided scan tron paper. This assignment is due at the beginning of the hour tomorrow!
